NetEase Games Montreal is the brand-new division of NetEase Games; a leading game developer and publisher focusing on delivering top quality gaming experiences. We are currently seeking Environment Artist for our next AAA project to create esthetic, functional and immersive 3D environment in the game and help us shape efficient production pipeline.

Job Responsibilities

*Create environments in tight collaboration with Level Designers.

*Determine the objects and layout compositions required and adjust the work according to the story and the gameplay.

*Integrate assets and textures produced in the game engine.

*Verify the quality of your work once imported into the game and make improvements when necessary.

*Understand and apply graphic principles.

*Use artistic references to improve visuals.

*Respond to and implement changes according to the received feedback.

*Provide mentorship and artistic guidance to more junior artists

Job requirements

Qualifications:

*Experience with Maya, Substance, Z-Brush, Photoshop etc.

*Knowledge of the technical constraints linked to real time, 3D engines and level editors.

*Ability to adapt to different art styles, including photorealistic and stylized.

*Ability to convey a sense of ‘story’ in a scene or game asset – considering age, weathering, and context.

*Strong sense of scene composition with a superior eye for lighting, color, and detail.

*Knowledge of high and low-poly modeling techniques, along with high-to-low-poly surface baking.

*Understand level art production process, from concept through to final.

*At least 1 shipped AAA game experience.

*Experienced with Unity3D is a plus.
